Clive Aslet, Editor at Large of Country Life, will discuss the country houses built at the beginning of the twentieth century – a time of idealism and epic change.
Edwin Lutyens, Charles Voysey, Baillie Scott and their contemporaries pioneered architectural forms to meet new social conditions, which included the rise of a professional class, the advent of the motor car and the “servant crisis”.
