FREE TALK: Learn about a large and fascinating new V&A acquisition. This talk takes place on Kartik Sud Punam, the special day when such paintings are worshipped in Jain temples.

Shatrunjaya Hill in Gujarat is one of the holiest Jain sites. Thousands of pilgrims climb up to the temples on top by a path with over 3,000 steps. Detailed paintings like this of the sacred site enable worshippers unable to be there to envisage and contemplate it.

With Samani Pratibha Pragyaji, Jain nun and PhD candidate, School of Oriental and African Studies, and Nick Barnard, Curator, South Asia.
