LUNCHTIME LECTURE: Join Jane Perry, visiting scholar at the V&A and author of 'Traditional Jewellery in Nineteenth-century Europe', for an insight into traditional jewellery.
Traditional jewellery is the kind worn with traditional, or national, costume. It is exuberant, extravagant, quirky, and often unusual in both function and appearance. The Victorians loved it, and Henry Cole bought large quantities for the V&A, which consequently has one of the earliest and best collections in the world.
