STUDY DAY: Discover the delights of Art Deco, the most distinctive of the inter-war styles.
With its passion for exotic cultures, new materials like Bakelite and aluminium, and luxury hand-made goods. This day surveys the development of skyscrapers, Art Deco and Jazz Age interiors and furniture, and the work of designers such as Emil-Jacques Rhulmann, Eileen Gray and Rob Mallet-Stevens. Speakers include Tim Benton, Christine Lalumia, and Jo Banham.
