LIVE MUSIC: Join us for an exciting concert by Mazaika Quintet and hear a passionate repertoire of Russian folk songs and gypsy music.

Led by accordionist and vocalist Igor Outkine, Mazaika was formed in 1996 with English violinist Sarah Harrison. Outkine studied classical music and singing in Moscow, and has built on his success by performing extensively in both Britain and Russia over the years.

A charismatic musician, Outkine has played on several major film soundtracks including The Man Who Knew Too Little, Birthday Girl and La Vie en Rose to name but a few, and he has also appeared on screen in the David Cronenberg film Eastern Promises (2007).

On this special occasion, Sarah Harrison will introduce the domra (Russian mandolin) and provide an authentic accompaniment to Outkine’s tenor voice.
