LUNCHTIME LECTURE: Learn more about The V&A’s Circulation Department, which toured travelling exhibitions around the UK.
Following the department's closure after government cuts in 1977 the Circulation Department is not well-known today. However, at the time it was largest department, with collections that pre-dated the founding of the Museum.
This lecture will examine the Department’s ethos under Keeper Peter Floud who pursued innovations in both Victorian design scholarship and in contemporary acquisitions.
Talk led by Joanna Weddell, AHRC CDA ‘Disseminating Design’, Research Department, V&A and Centre for Research and Development, University of Brighton
