Coinciding with the 125th anniversary of Jaeger, this event examines the history, design and ideas surrounding women’s tailoring and explores new ways in which it is infiltrating fashion today.
The elegant fit and clean lines associated with Savile Row tailoring has become an increasingly important feature of women’s clothes. The tailored suit has strongly influenced the female work wardrobe, while the blazer and the long jacket have become staples of more casual wear. Coinciding with the 125th anniversary of Jaeger, this event examines the history, design and ideas surrounding women’s tailoring and explores new ways in which it is infiltrating fashion today. Speakers include Jaeger designers Shallina Parti and Lillian Buckle, Savile Row women’s tailor Carol Alayne, and Sairah Hicks designer for Evie Belle. The event is followed by designer demonstrations in the Sackler Centre.
