Display : View iconic images taken by photographer Harry Goodwin on the set of the hit BBC show Top of the Pops. This special display features over two hundred photographs from the period, ranging from a backstage shot of Paul McCartney pouring tea to spectacular performances by Jim Hendrix or Marc Bolan captured on camera.

Harry Goodwin was resident stills photographer for the hitBBCmusic showTop of the Pops from 1964 to 1973, and photographed all the stars from The Beatles and The Rolling Stones to Dusty Springfield. The display brings together two hundred photographs from this period, ranging from backstage shots of Paul McCartney pouring tea, or ashocked Bob Dylan (temporarily blinded by Harry’s flash in punishment for his grumpiness) to Jimi Hendrix playing the guitar with his teeth and other spectacular performances. Together, these photographs form a unique record of the musicians who took British rock 'to the Top'

This display will be on show in the VA Theatre and Performance Galleries until 30 August 2010, before touringin the UK.
