Audio Guide

    • Welcome to the Europe 1600–1815 Audio Guide.

      With this guide, you can listen to voices, stories and music related to a range of objects within the galleries.

      There are three ways to find the object audios.

      To find out more, touch the 'Start' button below.

    • Search for an object audio

      You can access object audio directly from the search box.

      When you see the headphone symbol on an object label in the gallery, enter the search term in this box and select the result.

    • Explore rooms

      You can listen to object audios grouped according to the room the objects are in.

      Choose a room and listen to its introduction on the first page or press ‘Start’ to reach the individual object audios.

      Select 'Next' or 'Back' to hear all the object audios for that room. There are seven rooms altogether.

    • Explore tours

      You can listen to object audios grouped into themes.

      Choose a tour and press ‘Start’ to begin.

      Select 'Next' or 'Back' to follow an audio journey which will take you through a number of the rooms in the Europe galleries according to the theme.

    • Read transcripts

      Transcripts are available for each audio.

      Select 'Read transcript' and scroll to read. Select 'Hide transcript' to exit.

    • The menu

      You can access the main menu at any time with this button.

      There is a general introduction to the Europe galleries on the front page.

      Select 'Galleries introduction' in the menu to reach this audio.

      You can also search for object audios directly from this introduction page, or the menu.
