Mansfield Park

Mansfield Park

A series of simple illustrations for the interior of a reissue of Mansfield Park by Jane Austen for the Folio Society.
Mansfield Park depicts morality, stature and marriage. Fanny Price is sent to live with her wealthy aunt and uncle. She finds it difficult to adjust, and grows up shy and passive in her stern uncle's home.
The story heavily symbolises class divisions within the Regency Era, especially by referring to marriage which is a strong theme throughout the story in which women view it as a duty and marry for social status rather than for love.
