‘Daylighting the Virtual’, window installation

June 24, 2010

Semi transparent film on glass:

A fragment of a physical sculpture I made, was captured using 3D software, colliding with digital weather systems. Light jet printing of the virtual copy was made for each window in the studio. Once installed, the transparent film of each drawing is illuminated by natural light, changing over time. As nighttime fell, the drawing was back lit by external street lights. The colours and the darkness of the drawing continuously changed and so too the experience when viewed.
