The Victoria & Albert Museum (V&A) and Create are seeking nominations and applications for a three-month international residency based at Create’s Rabbits Road Institute in East London.

Rabbits Road Institute is currently home to Rabbits Road Press, a community Risograph print studio and publishing press run by OOMK. The small-scale publishing press provides printing and book binding services for artists and community groups in Newham and beyond. During the residency, members of OOMK will be on hand to help the resident make the most of the facilities and space.

We welcome applications from contemporary artists and designers who are interested in drawing on the V&A’s collections to work within the vibrant community setting of the Rabbits Road Institute. This residency is open to applicants of any nationality based outside of the United Kingdom that meet the criteria of the residency brief (downloadable below). Nominators and applicants will be asked to submit a joint residency application.

This project supported by the V&A Research Institute dovetails with the work that the V&A has been effecting with East London communities through a variety of programmes and pop-ups as it explores avenues for its participation in the Cultural Educational Quarter that is planned for the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
