Stefaan Vervoort

Stefaan Vervoort is a Ph.D. candidate at the Department for Architecture and Urban Planning, Ghent University. His dissertation, titled Models After Sculpture. Architectural Objects in the Visual Arts: New York and Düsseldorf, 1978–87, examines the historical emergence and transdisciplinary resonance of scale models by artists in the late 1970s through to the late ’80s. It discusses how typically architectural objects came to be incorporated in and examined by art practices, and how such objects negotiated shifts in both art and architecture.
