Physics or Philosophy

November 17, 2005

Since writing the previous blog entry – ‘Making Order’ – a friend has directed me to the opening stanza of William Blake’s poem ‘Auguries of Innocence” which to my shame I didn’t know. To see a World in a Grain of Sand And a Heaven in a Wild Flower, Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand And Eternity in an hour. In searching for the exact quote on the web I was lead down surprising avenues of fractal geometry, the cosmos and the space between 0 and 1. Fascinating stuff – which my brain is struggling to cope with – and which I would like to come back to another time. The web is a fantastic thing.
