Thursday 21 May at 13.00 to 14.00 (Meeting at Grand Entrance Meeting Point): Jamie Jenkinson will be giving a talk comparing the video pixel to mosaic tiles. Jenkinson will discuss his process using his mobile phone, focusing on the museum’s tiled floors in relation to the celluloid frame as a mode of abstract image making.
Wednesday 27 May at 12.00 & 14.00 (Level 1, Medieval & Renaissance, Room 50b): Liam Byrne will be giving a demonstration and performance of the viola da gamba next Wednesday as part of our May Half-Term Family Art Fun programme. This will be a unique chance to get up close and personal with a beautiful and unusual historical instrument from Renaissance times.
Saturday 30 May at 11.00 & 14.00 (Meeting at Grand Entrance Meeting Point): Visit Jamie in his studio and go behind the scenes to find out more about Jamie’s creative practice, his work in progress and his residency at the Museum tied to the Exhibition Road Building Project.
