Beirut Mapped: Applause

August 4, 2021

This video has evolved from Ghida Hachicho’s work on movement and gestures that are expressed collectively. In particular, it stems from her recent experience of crowds in the context of protests and political gatherings. Ghida explores the performative or choreographic practices, like applause, that shape the relationship between an individual and a group.
