A unique and special present – the V&A Shop Gift List

Wedding Season is well and truly upon us, we will all be wishing for perfectly sunny days but if you’re still fretting about what to give to the happy couple here’s what the V&A Shop team (all with remarkable taste) have bought for their friends…

Samantha Safer, Head of Brand Communications
I will be buying my very dear friends Charlotte and Matt, a unique vase by Molly Hatch which is exclusive to the V&A. I love that it is handmade and inspired by pieces from within the V&A’s ceramic collection. The vase also reflects the couple’s love of blue and having fresh cut flowers on their table or mantel piece at all times.

I am going to a summer wedding and giving the happy couple a Rob Ryan Loving Cup. I can picture shared morning tea or evening G&T’s for years to come! The cup is also based on a Loving Cup on view in the Sacred Silver Galleries. Rob has put his stamp on it literally – it’s signed and numbered so a unique token to treasure forever.

I will be giving From This Day Forward by James Brown. A big part of getting married is making a home so a framed print felt like the perfect gift. I can’t make their wedding but I wanted to give them something they could keep forever.

Lycia Lobo, Head of Retail Operations
I will give Richard & Verity an excuse to raise a glass and make a very stylish toast! I chose these handcrafted champagne glasses for Richard and Verity’s 3rd wedding anniversary garden dinner. They will be perfect for champagne and cocktails this Summer too!

I have chosen the handmade Burleigh Peacock teacup & saucer set for Martin & Katy’s vintage tea party themed Wedding – a great item to match the theme of the day! With the great reputation of Burleigh it’s also something they can use for their lifetime together.

Charlene Betteridge, Visual Merchandising Manager
Not only will I be helping my friends Lucy & Sarah decorate their wedding, I will be spelling out their name with our James Brown Alphabet prints, I’m glad they don’t have really long names!

I am shopping for best friend Liam and his other half Russell. They really admired these Hay Dot Napkins when they came round for dinner so together with the matching Tablecloth they’ll be the perfect gift for their forthcoming wedding anniversary.
