How the 'Making Room' project began and the ongoing role of Dundee’s Central Library

Join Peter Nurick and Alistair Wilson to hear more about the partnership between the museum and Central Library, how 'Making Room' came about, and what this unique project means to them. Alistair will also talk about how the Library is evolving and responding to the unprecedented challenges caused by the pandemic.

This pre-recorded talk will be followed by a live Q&A where you can ask direct questions about the project, learn more about the partnership and the future plans for 'Making Room' when it moves to Central Library in 2021.

Assemble are a multi-disciplinary collective working across architecture, design and art. Over their six-month residency, they are working collaboratively with us, Dundee's Central Library and a group of local young people.

Peter Nurick is our Communities Producer – Access and Inclusion. Prior to this, he has worked at Aberdeen Art Gallery and Museums, Aberdeen Science Centre, Dundee Science Centre and as a primary teacher in Perth & Kinross.

Library and Information Worker Alistair Wilson has been with Dundee Libraries since 2003. He supervises Arthurstone Community Library and manages library outreach projects around the city including its Makerspace, based at Central Library.

The pre-recorded talk will include closed captions.
