Assemble in Conversation with Michael Marriott

What is a design process?

Join Assemble and designer and maker Michael Marriott to explore how design practice is a product of particular ways of thinking about, seeing and engaging with the world around us.

Together, they will talk about how ideas are developed and consider the multitude of influences that shape the design process. They will discuss how Marriott began his practice and its evolution into furniture, exhibition design, curating and writing. The talk will be followed by an audience Q+A.

Assemble, our current Designers-in-Residence, are working with us, Dundee's Central Library and a group of local young people to explore the relationship between contemporary production techniques and traditional building crafts.

Michael Marriott has designed and made things for most of his life; lots of furniture, but also other products, exhibitions, interiors and installations.
