Plastic Lab Talk: Plastic waste, what is it good for?

Come along and find out about the Precious Plastics movement, a worldwide open hardware plastic recycling project.

Drop in to hear Bart Urbanski explain how transforming plastic waste into usable material and new products can help eliminate plastic pollution. Exploring why and how he set up DOBA Studio, Bart will unpack seemingly complex plastic recycling processes and encourage you to consider more sustainable design practices, thinking and behaviours.

The talk will be followed by a demonstration of how the Precious Plastic machine can transform plastic waste.

To find out more check out Doba Studio’s website, find them on Facebook or follow on Instagram. Also, you can find some of DOBA Studio’s recycled plastic products in our shop

Plastic Lab invites you to explore the promise and problem of plastic. Housing Precious Plastic recycling machines and hosting a dynamic programme of events, this free interactive space encourages visitors of all ages to learn, question, challenge, and act on some of the most important issues relating to plastic today. From board games to plastic sorting stations and pop-up talks, drop in and explore some of the free things you can see, do, and get involved in.

Plastic: Remaking Our World is the first exhibition co-produced by V&A Dundee, Vitra Design Museum, and maat, Lisbon with curators from V&A South Kensington.
