Our afternoon tea is beautifully designed to reflect our unique cultural blend of Scottish location and Japanese inspiration.

We've crafted this special treat to celebrate our local produce and heritage, with a twist inspired by our global influences.

Flavours and ingredients proudly representing Scotland include:

A mini Dundee cake
A "Cow Pie" in honor of Desperate Dan and D.C.Thomson
A jammy dodger decorated in the style of Charles Rennie Mackintosh's Oak Room, now the heart of our Scottish Design Galleries
A "Jute" crulla (plaited bake) to dip into cranachan, as a nod to Dundee's industrial past
Anster cheese from Fife
Traditional Scottish haddock

Flavours of miso and katsu complete the afternoon tea, adding a touch of Japan.

This special dish pays homage to our design influences, our love of Dundee and our Scottish locality. A most delicious way to add to your day at V&A Dundee.

V&A Dundee Afternoon Tea - sandwiches and savouries:
• Espresso cup of soup
• Anster cheddar and mustard scone with egg mayo and chives
• Smoked haddock and caramelised leek quiche
• Cow Pie – mini shortcrust pie filled with braised beef rib. Mini pastry horns to garnish
• Katsu sando – buttermilk chicken, pickled slaw and Japanese style mayo
V&A Dundee Afternoon Tea - scones:
• Plain scone
• Tea infused fruit scone
• Dundee marmalade and elderflower Chantilly cream
V&A Dundee Afternoon Tea - sweets:
• Miso caramel blondie with white chocolate
• Strawberry, pistachio and rose jammy dodger
• Mini Dundee cake
• Cranachan shot with heather honey, whisky and seasonal fruit compote, “Jute” plait on the side

As we make each order with the upmost care, our afternoon teas must be booked at least 24 hours in advance.

Available Wednesday – Monday, 12.00 – 16.00, £19.95 per person.
