Plastic Lab Workshop: Re-making the built environment
Can today’s plastic waste be tomorrow’s architecture?
Discover cutting-edge research from Glasgow-based architecture and design studio Dress for the Weather and imagine the future of the built environment in an architectural model making workshop using clean plastic waste.
PPE Material Flows is a ground-breaking proposal to recycle ‘low risk’ PPE waste produced by NHS Scotland. Following a comprehensive study into current NHS waste streams, PPE Material Flows proposes an alternative process which includes realistic methods for collecting this waste, processing and then transforming this plastic into architectural products. Join Andy Campbell and Dylan Lee in Plastic Lab to learn how, and help design the future of the built environment using recycled plastic.
Plastic Lab invites you to explore the promise and problem of plastic. Housing Precious Plastic recycling machines and hosting a dynamic programme of events, this free interactive space encourages visitors of all ages to learn, question, challenge, and act on some of the most important issues relating to plastic today. From board games to plastic sorting stations and pop-up talks, drop in and explore some of the free things you can see, do, and get involved in.
Plastic: Remaking Our World is the first exhibition co-produced by V&A Dundee, Vitra Design Museum, and maat, Lisbon with curators from V&A South Kensington.Image: Dress for the Weather
