Join Matt Wolf to explore a selection of the most significant productions of the last twelve months from bold new writing to notable revivals. Immerse yourself in the exciting return of London’s vibrant theatre scene with a wealth of critically acclaimed and ‘must-see’ productions being created. This autumn you can look forward meeting Dame Eileen Atkins, Dame Sheila Hancock, Tom Scutt, designer behind Cabaret, Lolita Chakrabarti, playwright of Life of Pi, Anoushka Lucas, actress in Oklahoma! and playwright, Elephant and Will Keen, actor in Patriots. We'll soon confirm the full programme.

The programme for this course will be confirmed closer to the start date, as it reflects productions currently running and the availability of special guests.

This short course will take place in person at V&A South Kensington

Staying Safe: If you or anyone you live with has COVID-19 symptoms, or if you have recently been in contact with someone who has COVID-19, we ask that you please postpone your visit to the museum. Hand sanitiser is available at the entrance to the museum, and the wearing of face coverings is recommended, particularly with exhibition galleries and our more confined public spaces. We have installed protective screens at shop and café points and are regularly cleaning all areas of the museum throughout the day.

Matt Wolf is theatre critic of The International New York Times; theatre editor and a founding member of The Arts Desk; a regular critic for the website and can be heard frequently on radio on Monocle and the BBC. He is working on a book about performing Stephen Sondheim & has spent 13 years as London theatre critic of Variety.

Previous editions of this British Theatre course which has been running since 2013 have included a host of special guests who went on to be nominated for, and even win, Olivier or Evening Standard Theatre Awards: These include Vicki Mortimer for her costume designs for 'Follies'; Laura Donnelly for starring as Caitlin in 'The Ferryman'; Bertie Carvel for playing Rupert Murdoch in the James Graham play 'Ink'; and Jamael Westman for playing Alexander Hamilton in ‘Hamilton’.
