Course Overview

From Art Nouveau to Deco, explore one of the most dynamic periods in European art. Expert lecturers will bring to life the work of painters including Munch, Klimt, Kandinsky and Picasso, while you discover how architects and designers tried to reshape their world. The arts of the early modern period have an outstanding presence within the V&A’s collections, and the programme is designed to make the most of this fact. Expert lecturers will trace the contributions made by individual artists and designers within a wider political and cultural context, and explore wider themes such as taste, patronage and the art market.

Guest Lecturers include: Justine Hopkins, freelance lecturer, specialist in 19th and 20th century art and design; Jacqueline Cockburn, independent art historian, Director of Art and Culture Andalucía, the V&A and the Arts Society.
