In this talk, artist, creative researcher and designer Maraid McEwan will share insights into her inclusive and participatory practice. Her work spans themes of gender inequality and inclusivity, craft and technology, empathy, fundraising, installation design and more. As part of her V&A residency, she has been working with young people to explore creative mindfulness. She strives for social impact to be at the core of everything she makes.
Teachers will also join us to share lesson strategies and some helpful tips for how to approach the project in your setting.

Come away from the session with inspiration, ideas and top tips for running V&A Innovate in your setting.

The session will end with a Q&A with the speakers.

V&A Innovate is an annual National Schools Challenge asking students in years 7, 8 and 9 to design a solution to a real-world problem. Find out more at vam.ac.uk/innovate

This event is free. Booking is essential. Event suitable for Secondary School teachers. You must be over 18 to take part.
