Lunchtime Lecture: A Crystal Palace: The Formation of the V&A’s Glass Collection photo

The V&A’s glass collection is globally important due to its comprehensive coverage and the number of pieces of outstanding quality. As we celebrate the International Year of Glass in 2022, join Simon Spier to explore how this significant collection was formed over the last 170 years, focussing on the varied cast of characters - collectors, curators, dealers and donors - and their shared obsession with glass.

Dr Simon Spier works in the curatorial team in the Ceramics and Glass section of the Decorative Art and Sculpture Department. Simon's interests include ceramics and glass of the 17th and 18th centuries, and the history of museums and collecting.
