Course overview

This course runs from 10.30-13.00.

The course concentrates on residential interiors and their inventors, ranging from the great names of the 20th Century – such as Madeleine Castaing, Piero Fornasetti and Terence Conran – through to a broad spectrum of contemporary creatives. These include leading practices and ateliers such as Studio KO in France to Commune in California, Jonathan Adler in New York, Bruno de Caumont in Vietnam and Valentina Audrito in Bali.

Featuring a series of lectures by writer and journalist Dominic Bradbury, the course is partly based on his recent global survey, the Atlas of Interior Design, published by Phaidon, as well as other recent book projects and his own travels. Each lecture looks at a carefully curated collection of houses in more detail, examining the work of the designers and architects behind their creation, as well as key themes. Over six weeks and twelve lectures, the course builds into a unique overview of residential interiors from the world’s most original thinkers as they explore a rich variety of contexts and settings.
