The Museum delivers weekly outreach sessions to London Hospital Schools during term-time. The sessions are bookable in advance and free of charge.

The sessions involve handling Museum objects – including toys – and are designed to capture the interest of sick children using a hands-on interactive experience. A typical visit might involve investigating moving or optical toys, with an opportunity to make something. The Museum can also design sessions to tie-in with specific topics requested by Hospital School staff.

The sessions take into account the reality of life in a Hospital School. Children can join in parts of the sessions if they are undergoing treatment. Objects can also be taken to bedsides where appropriate. All objects are wiped down with anti-bacterial liquid after use.
