Are kids today deprived of the outdoor adventures of previous generations? Do contemporary children mainly exercise their fingers on computer keyboards, TV and game controls rather than kicking a ball about in the street? Are the generation who appear to have so much more than their elders suffering from a lack of freedom because their overanxious parents wrap them in cotton wool?

Front Room display Playing In or Out? was an exploration of how notions of children playing indoors and playing outdoors have changed dramatically over the past 50 years.
