This scarf is created using clamp-dyeing, a traditional technique where a repeating pattern is created through the folding and clamping of fabric. Carved wooden shapes are held to the fabric with string, preventing the dye from reaching specific areas, creating a bold and eye-catching pattern.
Blue dye has been applied to this raw handwoven silk, creating a colourful scarf with small tassels along the edge.
