Inspired by the kimonos from the exhibition, the design for this notebook has been carefully selected from the archives of specialist print studios in Kyoto, Japan, where silkscreen-printed papers are still made using traditional methods. The notebooks are hand-bound in England by Esmie, a British company specialising in bookbinding and hand-printing. 

Embodying Japan’s national culture and sensibility, the kimono is internationally iconic. The V&A exhibition Kimono: Kyoto to Catwalk explores the history of the garment, and its cultural impact in Japan and beyond.
