Simon Cryer can trace his Bowie obsession back to 1972 watching that now infamous performance of 'Starman' on Top of the Pops, and the influence of his older brother bringing home the 'John, I'm only Dancing' 7" single. This poster series was originally posted on the Northbank blog as a purely personal project, an opportunity to combine his love of graphics and that iconic series of seventies Bowie albums that were such an important part of his life growing up as a teenager in Leeds.
Simon Cryer was born in 1964 in Leeds. Graduating in graphics from Hull College of Art in 1987, Simon spent 12 years gaining experience across many areas of design until in 1999 he established his own consultancy Northbank in Bath alongside co-partner Robert Shaw. Since then Simon has won many awards for his work in identity and literature design.
