This beautiful jacket is made from Ghanaian wax print fabric in a pattern called Kete Pa, which in the Ghanaian language Twi literally translates to 'good bed'; the phrase can also refer to a well-managed home. The shapes in the fabric represent gold dust, a reference to the gold found in Ghana. Asaawa was founded by Ghanaian-born designer and creative Josephine Konadu, creating pieces that combine the diverse abundance of African fabric with contemporary fashion.
