Joseph McHugh’s 1967 psychedelic lithograph poster takes inspiration from the White Rabbit in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, shown here surrounded by motifs from the story, including chess pieces, playing cards and potion bottles labelled ‘Drink Me,’ beneath the arching inscription ‘Keep Your Head.’ Born in 1939, American artist Joseph McHugh is known for his contribution to the graphic, psychedelic art scene of the 1960s.
