A popular theme in jewellery and the decorative arts of the Belle Epoch era, the four seasons are represented in each quarter of this stunning silk scarf. A different plant represents each season, while the romantic style of the design is further enhanced by the inclusion of ribbons and eggs. Created exclusively for the V&A by artist and illustrator Rory Hutton, each element of the design is hand-carved on lino blocks before being printed on silk.
