Details
Kalamkari is an ancient hand-painting technique originating in South India. Beautiful motifs are applied to fabric using a bamboo pen, known as a ‘kalam’, as part of a meticulous process involving dyeing, bleaching, printing and starching. The intricate patterns often depict flora, fauna and traditional iconography, rendered using natural dyes such as mustard, rust and indigo.
A floral foliage design is bordered by a leaf pattern in shades of blue on this square cotton voile scarf.
