An instantly recognisable model to any car aficionado, more than 15 million Ford Model T Tourers were made before the design was retired in 1927. Henry Ford wanted to make cars affordable for as many consumers as possible and cut the manufacturing costs with his mechanised assembly lines and no-frills, highly standardised designs. The image on this greeting card shows Ford Motor Company photographers with a Ford Model T outside the Highland Park plant in Michigan in 1916.
