The designs featured on this set of mini notebooks are adapted from Moresque No. 5, taken from The Grammar of Ornament, Owen Jones’ 1856 collection held in the V&A archive. One of the most influential design theorists of the 19th century, architect and designer Owen Jones studied examples of metalwork, textiles, ceramics, manuscripts and woodwork from around the globe, striving to understand the underlying principles and develop theoretical principles regarding colour, geometry and abstraction.
