Context

The External Relations Department was created in 1991 and had the following aims; to communicate Arts Council policy and activities to key audiences and to provide marketing and development advice and research to artists and arts organisations.

Scope and content

This series consists of a number of the department's miscellaneous files on subjects such as; the Association for Business Sponsorship of the Arts, Architecture, the London Borough Grants Scheme, Photographers and Re-structuring. It also contains copies of the Press Office Action Plans for 1990-91 and 1991-92.
