| Series title: | Drama Department: Regional Material, 1971-1993 | |
| Reference: | ACGB/44 | |
| Extent: | 86 folders |
This series contains papers concerning the Drama Department's relationship with the Regional Arts Associations (RAAs) in England. Most of these files contain correspondence between the RAAs and the Drama Officers of the ACGB, and between the RAAs and their clients. Many of the files from 1984-1985 contain detailed responses by the RAAs to the proposed re-organisation / devolution outlined in the "Glory of the Garden" report (1984). Many files also contain RAA assessments of individaul clients, and the different strands of performance in their region e.g. Touring Theatre, Theatre in Education etc. Papers relating to the Scottish Arts Council, Welsh Arts Council and the Arts Council of Northern Ireland can be found in series ACGB/38.
Arrangement
The files in this series are arranged alphabetically by RAA name, with the exception of the last two files which contain material concerning ACGB dealings with all the RAAs.
