Scope and content

This series includes copies of arts publications which were held by the Arts Council library for reference purposes, such as "London Theatre Record", "Artscribe" and "Entertainment Arts Management". There are also files containing a digest of Arts press coverage(1977-1984) and extracts from Arts-related Hansard's Parliamentary debates (1957-1990).

There are copies of press releases, conference reports and microfiche copies of the Arts Council's exhibition catalogues. This series also contains many miscellaneous reports, reviews, investigations which were originally filed as "confidential". There is also a collection of speeches, articles, reviews and reports by Roy Shaw, Secretary General (1975-83) and by other numerous other individuals and organisations.
