Collaborative Doctoral Partnerships
The V&A has been successful in its application to the Arts and Humanities Research Council’s (AHRC) Collaborative Doctoral Partnership scheme.
The scheme will see a number of PhD studentships which will be taken forward in partnership between the V&A and selected Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).
We have been awarded twelve Collaborative Doctoral Partnerships (CDP); four starting in each year from Oct 2013 to Oct 2015, and all PhDs to have been completed within 3-year periods.
Each studentship will be jointly supervised by a specialist member of V&A staff and an academic from a UK Higher Education Institution, as with the existing Collaborative Doctoral Awards (CDA) scheme. The HEI administers the studentship, receiving funds from the AHRC for fees and to cover the student’s maintenance. The V&A will provide additional financial support to the student towards their travel and related costs in carrying out research.
Further detail on the CDP and CDA schemes is available from the AHRC website.
