Forever - Installation by Universal Everything

Impressions of Forever in the John Madejski Garden at the V&A

21 November 2008  - 1 February 2009

Forever was a generative audio-visual installation created by Universal Everything. During the winter of 2008, the V&A John Madejski Garden came alive with a digital commission by Universal Everything, a multidisciplinary design studio founded by creative director Matt Pyke in 2004.

Forever was a large video wall installation of endless animations responding to an ever-changing soundtrack. The bespoke generative design system at the heart of Forever did, and still could, spawn unique audio-visual films every day, forever.

A live online installation, generating an endless series of downloadable video podcasts coincided with the display.

Working with a wide range of media from pencils to generative design, Universal Everything is a UK-based studio at the crossover between art and design. The studio operates as an ever-growing global network of designers, artists, musicians, producers and programmers. Each of Universal Everything's project is conceived by a specifically appointed team.
