About Inspired by ...

Jali Rings, David Ward

Jali Rings, made by David Ward during his BTEC Jewellery class at Westminster Adult Education Services, Amberley Road Centre

Inspired by … is the V&A's annual art competition for people on part-time courses, and is supported by NIACE, the National Institute of Continuing Education. Participants create a work of art or craft inspired by the collections of either V&A South Kensington or the V&A Museum of Childhood. Entries are judged by a panel of curators/educators and the professional designer. The prize-winning entries and other selected works are displayed in the Museum.

Inspired by ... 2012 is on display in the Sackler Foyer and Room 220 until 21 April 2013. Between 29 January and 18 February the Sackler Foyer display will be temporarily closed due to building works.

We regret that the V&A Inspired by ... competition is being discontinued after the current display. Adult learners may like to apply for the Rootstein Hopkins Drawing Exhibition

A gift in your will

You may not have thought of including a gift to a museum in your will, but the V&A is a charity and legacies form an important source of funding for our work. It is not just the great collectors and the wealthy who leave legacies to the V&A. Legacies of all sizes, large and small, make a real difference to what we can do and your support can help ensure that future generations enjoy the V&A as much as you have.
