Museums Working With Artists: Collaborative Practices

Professional development course

+44 (0)20 7942 2000

Together, we will explore the opportunities for collaboration between artists and museums, and uncover a framework for lasting and mutually beneficial relationships, at any stage and for any project. Whether for a temporary display, commission, residency, or co-developing community projects, you will leave with a toolkit for successful collaboration.

Drawing particularly on the V&A’s residency partnership with the Adobe Foundation, you will hear from experts and practitioners from across the V&A team; curators and previous artists in residence; as well as top speakers from the wider sector who have developed a variety of successful collaborative projects. From writing a brief to defining your audience, scope and approach, this course will cater both for artists and for museum professionals, and will equip you with the skills and confidence to establish a collaborative project in the arts and heritage sector.

This online course comprises live presentations, panel discussions, exclusive interviews and group workshop sessions, designed to create an engaging and interactive experience in whichever time zone you are joining from. These sessions will be available to watch live or in your own time. The course recordings, materials and resources are available for a further 6 weeks after the course is completed, so you’ll never miss a minute.
