Throughout all of history, what people wore – especially their jewels -- was used to set themselves apart from others, be it as a display of wealth, power, or social rank. In his talk, Andrew will guide you through the astounding splendour of the medieval Dukes of Burgundy, the Royal Courts of Europe and Elizabeth the First, to the dazzling opulence of the Belle Epoque and glittering film stars like Elizabeth Taylor.
