The University of Dundee (ranked in the world’s top 200 universities) includes the highly regarded Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design and School of Architecture - consistently rated in the top 10% of the UK’s art and design colleges over the last decade.
Abertay University was the first in the world to offer degrees in computer games technology. Its School of Arts, Media and Computer Games is the UK’s first centre of excellence in the subject and has contributed to Dundee's reputation in gaming innovation and digital design.
Dundee City Council has overseen a cultural renaissance in the City over the past 20 years. Dundee Contemporary Arts, Dundee Rep Theatre, the Space (home to the Scottish School of Contemporary Dance), and the recently reopened and refurbished McManus Galleries are playing a part in re-establishing Dundee as a centre for art and culture.
Scottish Enterprise is supporting a number of initiatives to promote Scotland's digital media and tourism industries. Together with Dundee City Council, Scottish Enterprise is driving the Dundee Waterfront regeneration programme.
