Clothes in the Past

The pictures on the right show clothiers worn by men and women in the 1750s, 1820s, 1920s and 1950s. Can you guess when each set of clothes was worn?

You can colour in your own copies of these clothes. You will need: colouring sheets,

coloured pencils or felt tip pens, paper, printer.

What to do

1. Print out and colour in all the colouring sheets.

2. On a blank piece of paper, draw typical clothes for a man and a woman today.

3. Lay your colouring sheets and drawing, in date order, starting with the earliest first.

4. How has clothing for men and women changed in the past 250 years?
