Stirring up images of imaginary realms full of strange beauty and untold marvels... Enter the dark and magical world of Wonderland by East London Printmakers an exhibition exploring fairy tales, myths and folk tales from around the world. Featuring over 80 artworks, the exhibition includes depictions of much-loved European tales such as Hansel and Gretel by the Brothers Grimm and Hans Christian Andersen’s The Ugly Duckling, as well as folklore from other continents. The varied cultural and geographical backgrounds of the 50 exhibiting artists are evident in the works shown, taking us to places of good and evil, quests and heroes, love and friendship.
Wonderland: Themes

Folklore, myths, legends and fairy tales are a cauldron of a culture's deepest hopes, beliefs and anxieties symbolically expressed through storytelling and passed on through generations. The exhibiting artist's works are loosely themed Cautionary Tales, Fantasy, Good versus Evil, Love and Friendship, Myths and Folklore and The Heroic Quest.

Explore the exhibition with an evening of tours and trails and create your very own artist's book at a drop-in printmaking workshop led by Wonderland artist Victoria Browne. Buy festive gifts in the shop and see the unveiling of the Museum's new Christmas Tree!
