Fire pager system

The V&A has installed a Fire Pager System as part of the emergency evacuation procedure, which will alert deaf visitors to the museum's fire alarm. The pagers can be collected from the Information Desk at the Grand Entrance. The pagers will vibrate, flash and beep when the alarm is activated.

Please collect a pager on arrival at the V&A.

Talks programme

There are regular talks for deaf people in British Sign Language and Sign Supported English. For a full programme of specialist events visit What's On.

Sound enhancement equipment

Neck loops and radio receivers for use on talks and tours are available from the information desk in the Grand Entrance. Read a step-by-step guide on how to use this equipment.

Induction loops

Induction loops are available in the following areas:

  • Information desks
  • Gallery information points
  • Lecture Theatre, Auditorium and seminar rooms
  • Retail points
You will need to switch your hearing aid to the 'T' position in order to use these.

Subtitled videos

A selection of videos within the galleries include subtitles.

A gift in your will

You may not have thought of including a gift to a museum in your will, but the V&A is a charity and legacies form an important source of funding for our work. It is not just the great collectors and the wealthy who leave legacies to the V&A. Legacies of all sizes, large and small, make a real difference to what we can do and your support can help ensure that future generations enjoy the V&A as much as you have.
